Custom Fabric Development

Develop custom stretch fabrics around your target composition, structure, GSM, hand feel, color, and functional finishing.

How to brief a custom fabric development

Custom fabric development should begin with a measurable product brief. Provide the garment type, reference swatch or sample, target composition, GSM, width, stretch direction, recovery, surface, hand feel, color, and required function. Separating essential requirements from preferences makes it easier to decide whether an existing base fabric can be adjusted or whether the project needs deeper development from yarn, structure, bonding, or finishing.

The sampling plan should confirm the properties that matter in the finished garment. Depending on the project, this may include stretch, opacity, drape, pilling, abrasion, colorfastness, moisture management, thermal performance, seam behavior, wash stability, and compatibility with printing or bonding. Approve the fabric after garment-level testing because finishing and construction can change weight, flexibility, appearance, and hand feel.

The current custom-category products are heavyweight bonded examples of the deeper development route, where MOQ can reach 1,000 kg. MOQ and lead time depend on the base fabric, process, testing, and order scope. Share the complete brief and expected quantity before sampling so feasibility, development steps, commercial minimums, and timing can be assessed accurately.
